Abstract

It was our aim to reflect on the policies of promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language and on the processes of cooperation with special focus on education, materialized on implementation of strategies for teaching the Portuguese language and culture under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education.

It is thus this perspective with the purpose to frame the policies as a means of promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language, because only by having in mind the economic value and influence that a common language has, that one should think strategically, not only in the field of discourses but, fundamentally, in the field of concrete actions that time and historical evolution have determined.
