Abstract

Writing is one of the demanding activity that an instructor should, first and foremost,  promote in some of their  classes. Being capable of stringing   a cluster of words to form a phrase, some phrases to form a sentence, and then sentences to culminate with an effective paragraph, is being quite challenging to some language learners, mainly when the issue lies  in writing some scholarly information. Therefore, a great number of ELT secondary school learners have some difficulties to write a correct  paragraph.  In this sense, writing a correct paragraph requires the mastery of many linguistic sub-skills. So in building this article, the   main and sub- objectives  center on raising trainers’ awareness and interest to devote more time to the writing teaching; and secondly,  using of effective strategies to enable ELT learners writing a good paragraph. The study’s general field (topic) is writing. In terms  of methodology, three methods were  essential for obtaining confident results: questionnaire, observation and text analysis. A correct paragraph should have  organization,  coherence, cohesion and entirely unified. Consequently, writing accurately a simple letter, an academic essay, a thesis or a dissertation is very complex task if the writer does not have an effective training on paragraph writing. This article is an introductory attempt to help the trainers to improve their learners’ art of paragraph writing. This current study came to conclusion that with the application of logical strategies namely coherence, cohesion, unity, format and organization    in writing lessons, the learners could produce an effective paragraph.
