LES DÉFIS DE LA PARENTALITÉ DANS UNE SOCIÉTÉ EN MUTATION : UN NOUVEAU SYNDROME - LE BURNOUT PARENTAL

Des recherches menées dans plus de 40 pays des cinq continents ont mis en évidence l'existence d'un nouveau syndrome: le Burnout Parental. À partir d'une revue narrative de la littérature, les principaux résultats de ces études seront présentés. Ils portent sur les caractéristiques de ce syndrome et ses conséquences pour les parents et leurs enfants, ainsi que sur les raisons de son développement. Une brève analyse des changements récents dans la société angolaise, tant au niveau des exigences relatives à l'éducation des enfants et des jeunes, qu’à la nécessité d'adaptation des familles à de nouvelles structures familiales, met en évidence le risque d’augmentation de manifestation du Burnout Parental. Bien qu'il n'existe pas de données empiriques en Angola, la présence de ce syndrome dans divers pays d'Afrique subsaharienne et les résultats de cette analyse renforcent la nécessité de l'étudier également dans la société angolaise, offrant ainsi aux professionnels de la santé mentale les moyens de l'identifier et d'évaluer son impact. En effet, la réalisation d’interventions ciblées sur ce syndrome, tant sur le plan préventif que curatif, pourrait être nécessaire en Angola dans un avenir plus ou moins proche.
