L'hémorragie digestive haute est une urgence médicale fréquente avec une morbi-mortalité
significative, surtout dans les contextes à faibles ressources. En Angola, peu d'études ont
caractérisé le profil clinico-épidémiologique des patients atteints d' hémorragie digestive haute.
Objectif: Caractériser le profil sociodémographique, clinique, étiologique et évolutif des
patients hospitalisés pour hémorragie digestive haute à l'Hôpital Général de Benguela.
Matériels et méthodes: Étude observationnelle transversale rétrospective basée sur 66 dossiers
médicaux (janvier/2015 à septembre/2017). Les variables démographiques, cliniques,
thérapeutiques et évolutives ont été analysées. Résultats: Les patients étaient majoritairement
des hommes (62,1%), âgés de 40 à 60 ans (51,5%), provenant de zones urbaines (68,2%).
L'ulcère gastroduodénal était la cause principale (54,5%), suivi des varices œsophagiennes
(25,8%). Un méléna isolé était présent chez 65,1%. Les comorbidités étaient présentes chez
54,5% (hépatopathie: 27,3%). La mortalité globale était de 12,1%, atteignant 47,1% chez les
17 patients opérés en urgence. Le délai moyen admission-chirurgie était de 8,2 heures chez les
décédés contre 5,1 heures chez les survivants. Seuls 28,8% ont bénéficié d'une endoscopie.
Conclusions: L' hémorragie digestive haute à l'Hôpital Général de Benguela touche
principalement les hommes d'âge moyen, avec un ulcère gastroduodénal comme étiologie
prédominante. La mortalité postopératoire élevée souligne la nécessité d'améliorer la
stratification du risque, l'accès à l'endoscopie et la réduction du délai chirurgical
