THE DEMOCRATIC MANAGEMENT OF THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

Abstract

This article addresses the theme related to the management of the curriculum at school it is an evaluation requirement of the Theory and Curriculum Development module, administered by Professor Stela Mithá Duarte, in the Master's program in Educational Sciences at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Educação from Luanda. The objective of this article is to reflect on the democratic management of the curriculum, based on the assumption of the existence of a critical curriculum. Given the fact that the public policies of the dominant social system of the school have done their utmost to make the school curriculum its main instrument of legitimation. Seeking to elucidate how the curriculum and its management at school can act as a transforming agent of social structures, relying on the political and cultural aspects of the school curriculum, as well as the relationship that exists between the democratization of curriculum management in the context of school performance . The success of a curriculum plan is associated with the design of appropriate strategies for its implementation. This is a theoretical study, that is, a bibliographical review article with an emphasis on a qualitative approach.
